Edition 11.1 des Heavily Peated Bruichladdich Single Malts namens Octomore wurde 2014 aus 100% Schottischer Gerste (Concerto und Propino) destilliert und durfte etwas mehr als 5 Jahre auf Islay in 1st Fill American Whiskey Casks (Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Jack Daniels) verbringen, bevor er schliesslich 2020 mit einer Auflage von 30'000 Flaschen abgefüllt wurde. Getorft auf 139.6 ppm punktet er bei Rauchliebhabern mit intensiver Torfraucharomatik.

Tasting Notes

Nase: Beginnend mit etwas Zitrone, nasser Erde und etwas frischem Holz, dann Anflüge von Pfirsich, Toffee, Malz und verbranntem Gummi.

Palate: Brauner Zucker begleitet von Chilischärfe. Danach Steinfrüchte, Pfirsichjoghurt, Vanille, Karamell und angebrannte Eiche. Das ganze stets begleitet von maritimen Noten und Rauch.

Finish: Eher kurz und wärmend mit starker Raucharomatik.
