Nein, der beliebte Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky wird nicht aus Kaffebohnen hergestellt, sondern aus 100% gemälzter Gerste. Er wird aber dennoch nicht als Malt Whisky, sondern als Grain Whisky eingestuft, da er nicht im Pot Still destilliert wird, sondern - daher der Name - in einer Coffey Still. Diese andersartige Herstellungsmethode führt zu völlig anderen Aromen und Texturen. Ein Whisky, den man als Enthusiast also einmal probiert haben sollte.
